The Program

The NYS Clean Heat Program is a collaboration between NY State and the local energy utilities. The program was established to promote the installation of energy efficient heat pumps in single-family, multifamily, and commercial buildings. Air Source Heat Pumps are a great alternative to gas and oil systems as we turn toward a future without fossil fuels. This program is an important step toward saving our environment.

Installation

Our expertise is in ductless full home Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installation. This offering covers installations in 1-4 family homes. There are 3 types of installation, each with its own requirements and incentive structure. The first is a Standard install (without any changes to your current system). The second is an Integration install, or a connection of your new AC/heat pump system to your old fossil fuel system. The last is a Decommission and/or complete removal of the old fossil fuel system.

Requirements for Qualification

To qualify for full home Air Source Heat Pump (ASHP) installation, you must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a Con Ed gas and electric customer

  • Installed system must cover at least 90% of the living space in residence

  • All units must be approved by the Northeast Energy Efficiency Partnerships

  • Rebate cannot exceed 100% of total project cost

  • System must be installed by a Participating Contractor

The Process

Our technicians will take measurements of the residence and calculate the associated heating and cooling load. This information will be used to help design the system as well as calculate the rebate and prepare a formal Proposal. The Proposal will include your specific job's parameters and the full contract (pre-rebate) sum and eligible rebate. Please note that we will cover the full pre-rebate cost so your savings are immediate. We will manage the rebate refund process with Con Ed.
